Events

Track device activity and important occurrences from the dashboard.

What are Events?

Events are timestamped records of device activity. They help you understand what your devices are doing and troubleshoot issues - all visible in your dashboard.

Viewing Events

To view the event log:

  1. Go to Monitoring in the sidebar
  2. Click Events
  3. Use the filters to narrow down by device, type, or date

You can also view device-specific events from the device control panel.

Event Types

telemetry

Telemetry

Periodic sensor readings and device state updates. Temperature, humidity, sensor values.

pin_change

Pin Change

Digital or analog pin value changes. Button presses, sensor triggers.

boot

Boot

Device startup events. Includes firmware version and initial state.

error

Error

Device errors and failures. WiFi disconnections, sensor failures.

Severity Levels

Events are color-coded by severity in the dashboard:

Normal activity

Warning

Needs attention

Error

Something failed

Critical

Immediate action

Filtering Events

Use the filter bar at the top of the Events page to narrow down results:

Device Filter

Select a specific device from the dropdown to see only its events.

Type Filter

Choose event types: telemetry, pin changes, boot, or errors.

Severity Filter

Focus on specific severity levels like errors or warnings.

Date Range

Use the date picker to view events from specific time periods.

Event Details

Click on any event row to expand and see full details:

  • Timestamp - Exact date and time of the event
  • Device - Which device generated the event
  • Type - Category of event (telemetry, pin_change, etc.)
  • Payload - Detailed data like sensor values or pin states

Real-Time Updates

The Events page updates automatically as new events come in:

  • New events appear at the top of the list
  • Live streaming mode shows events as they happen
  • Badge counter shows number of new events since you last looked

Exporting Events

Export your event data for external analysis:

  1. Apply filters to select the events you want
  2. Click the Export button
  3. Choose CSV or JSON format
  4. Download the file to your computer

Event history is stored based on your plan:
